Dr Irfan is originally from Pakistan and graduated from university of Pretoria in South Africa. He did his internship in Johannesburg before moving to Ireland.

Before beginning GP training, Dr Irfan worked extensively in Medicine for the Elderly, Intensive Care Medicine and as a Palliative Care Registrar in Our Lady's Hospice, Harolds Cross.

Dr Irfan is married and has 3 children. He  is an avid tennis player.
