COVID BOOSTERS AND FLU VACCINE 2023
We are currently in the process of organising our annual Covid 19 and Flu booster clinics.

Our first clinic will be for the over 80s and will take place on October 5th.

You will receive a call from our Admin team with an appointment time in the coming days.

Once we have confirmation of our vaccine delivery numbers, we will be able to organise further clinics for those under 80.

THE DRUMCONDRA MEDICAL TEAM
Dr Brian King and Dr Sinéad Cronin are delighted to continue the long tradition of caring for the people of Dublin 9 at Drumcondra Medical. The practice was started by Dr Paddy Kelly and Dr Martin Maguire almost 40 years ago.

Our Administrative staff of Loretta, Pam and Maeve are on hand to help book appointments and answer any queries you may have. They are supported by Cathy, our Practice Manager.

Nurse Jackie is available for a range of services including phlebotomy, smear taking, baby vaccines and administration of Prolia and other injections she is also running our Chronic Disease Management clinic.
PRACTICE NEWS

DR BRIAN CHOSEN AS A GP TRAINER
Dr Brian has been selected to become a GP trainer with the RCSI Dublin North Leinster GP training scheme.

This means that Drumcondra Medical has now been accredited to train doctors who have chosen to become General Practitioners.

In July 2023 we will welcome Dr Aine Stenson who is a fully qualified doctor in the final stages of her postgraduate training to become a GP. From September to Christmas we will also welcome Dr Marielle Moran to the surgery. Dr Moran is also a fully qualified doctor in the final stages of her postgraduate training.

NOTICE OF NON-ATTENDANCE FEE
Due to a dramatic increase in patients failing to attend for booked appointments we are introducing a non-attendance fee.
If you fail to attend and do not give us 24 hours notice, a non-attendance fee of 30 euro will be applied to your account. This fee will need to be paid before another appointment will be offered to you.
We are a busy medical practice and always have people waiting for appointments.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE PRACTICE IF YOU HAVE A COUGH, TEMPERATURE, RUNNY NOSE, SORE THROAT OR HEADCOLD.
These symptoms could be Covid related. If you are looking for advice about any of these symptoms, please telephone the practice and we will get one of the GPs to call you. Alternatively, click the Contact Us below and send us an email.

PLEASE ISOLATE UNTIL THE DOCTOR HAS SPOKEN TO YOU

ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THE FREE CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME?
If you are over 50 years of age, have a valid GMS or GP visit card, can attend the surgery and have one or more of the following conditions you are eligible to participate.

~ Type 2 Diabetes
~ Asthma
~ Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
~ Heart Failure
~ Angina
~ Stroke
~ Irregular heart beat (Atrial fibrillation)

The programme involves a free, structured appointment with the GP and the practice nurse twice a year. Here, we will specifically focus on your chronic conditions. The aim of the programme is to take a more detailed view at you and these specific conditions. This will hopefully result in early detection of a change in your condition, reducing visits to hospital.
