HSE RECOMMENDS MMR VACCINE PRIOR TO TRAVELLING FOR BABIES AGED 6-11 MONTHS
THERE ARE HIGH LEVELS OF MEASLES CIRCULATING GLOBALLY.
THE HSE HAS RECOMMENDED THAT ALL INFANTS BETWEEN 6 AND 11 MONTHS SHOULD RECEIVE A MMR VACCINE BEFORE TRAVELLING ABROAD.
THE VACCINE SHOULD BE GIVEN AT LEAST 2 WEEKS BEFORE TRAVELLING.
THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL FEE FOR THIS VACCINE.
NOTE, THESE BABIES WILL STILL REQUIRE THEIR REGULAR MMR DOSE AT 12 MONTHS OLD AS PART OF THE CHILDHOOD IMMUNISATION SCHEDULE.
PLEASE EMAIL THE SURGERY TO ARRANGE.

PRACTICE NEWS
DR BRIAN CHOSEN AS A GP TRAINER
Dr Brian has been selected to become a GP trainer with the RCSI Dublin North Leinster GP training scheme.
This means that Drumcondra Medical has now been accredited to train doctors who have chosen to become General Practitioners.
NOTICE OF NON-ATTENDANCE FEE
Due to a dramatic increase in patients failing to attend for booked appointments we are introducing a non-attendance fee.
If you fail to attend or do not give us 24 hours notice (Friday notice required for Monday appointments), a non-attendance fee of 30 euro will be applied to your account. This fee will need to be paid before another appointment will be offered to you.
We are a busy medical practice and always have people waiting for appointments.
WELCOME DR BARBARA GILES
From July 2024 we will have Dr Barbara working with us. Dr Barbara is a fully qualified doctor in the final stages of her postgraduate training to become a GP.
Dr Aine has now completed her year of postgraduate training with us and we wish her all the very best for the future.
ARE YOU ELIGIBLE FOR THE FREE CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME?
If you are over 50 years of age, have a valid GMS or GP visit card, can attend the surgery and have one or more of the following conditions you are eligible to participate.
~ Type 2 Diabetes
~ Asthma
~ Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
~ Heart Failure
~ Angina
~ Stroke
~ Irregular heart beat (Atrial fibrillation)
The programme involves a free, structured appointment with the GP and the practice nurse twice a year. Here, we will specifically focus on your chronic conditions.
